Bruschetta

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Bakery Fresh baguette, sliced into 1/2 inch thick pieces
  • 1 1/2 pounds ripe tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 1/2 pound fresh mozzarella, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
  • Grandad's Gravy Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Grandad's Gravy Balsamic Vinegar
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 or 3 full sprigs fresh basil leaves picked

 

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Arrange bread slices on a baking sheet. Place in the oven and bake until toasted about 5 minutes.

Remove bread from the oven and arrange on a large serving platter. Allow bread to cool for approximately 3 minutes. Rub the bread generously with the garlic cloves and top each slice with a slice of mozzarella and a sprinkle of kosher salt. Top with a layer of tomato. Drizzle with olive oil and a few drops of balsamic vinegar. Top with one or two basil leaves, a sprinkle of freshly ground pepper and serve.
